ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Jan. 13 (PIA6) – The Media and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) will be reaching out to Capiceños through a series of forum in the different schools in Capiz.
The event, dubbed as MTRCB Forum “Para sa Matalinong Panonood ng Pamilya Nina Juan at Juana,” will be led by MTRCB Executive Director lawyer Victoriano Muring, Jr.
College students, including faculty members of Colegio dela Purisima Concepcion will be attending in the forum in the morning of January 14, while the elementary, high school and college students as well as the teachers of Filamer Christian University will be having the same in the afternoon of same date, MTRCB Administrative Assistant Jesusa Lorenzo said.
The same activity will likewise be conducted on January 15 in Mambusao town, particularly at the Capiz State University-Mambusao campus.
The discussions will highlight on the overview and objectives of the fora, composition and scope of authority, including the powers and functions of the Board, revised classification for films, classification ratings for trailers, plugs and publicity materials and Memorandum of Agreement with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), including the other notable achievements of the MTRCB.
Aside from Muring, newly-appointed MTRCB Chairperson Eugenio H. Villareal, Board Members Jackie Aquino, Jose Antonio Veloso, Francia Conrado, Mario Hernando, Bobby Andrews and Jay Revestir will be also be here for said activity.
Part of the advocacy campaign is the display of tarpaulins in the bus terminals in Roxas City and Mambusao town.
Lorenzo said that the MTRCB’s information, education and communication campaign in Capiz is part of the agency’s grassroots advocacy campaign that targets the students from the different academic institutions in the entire country.
In addition, the activity aims to raise public awareness on the revised classification rating of MTRCB for movies and television as well as inform the public on the mandate of the agency under Presidential Decree 1986. (JCM/JBG/PIA6-Capiz)
