CSC exam for fire officers set

ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Jan. 16 (PIA6) –Capiceños who are interested to join the fire officers in the country could take the Civil Service Commission exams slated for fire officers

Capiz CSC Director lawyer Maria Lina Gonzaga disclosed that the CSC has started to accept applications for the Fire Officer Examination set on March 10 this year.

The examination will be conducted in Iloilo City, Gonzaga said, adding that the deadline for the filing of application with any of the CSC field offices is on January 24.

She stressed that for an applicant to qualify for said examination, he or she must be a Filipino citizen, of good moral character, mentally and physically fit, has not been convicted by final judgment of an offense involving moral turpitude or of disgraceful or immoral conduct or dishonesty or examination irregularity, or drunkenness or addiction to drugs.

She added that applicants must not have been dishonorably discharged from the military service or dismissed for cause from any civilian position in government, must be between 21 to 30 years of old for private employees or between 21 to 45 years old for civilian employees of the Bureau of Fire Protection, incumbent government employees and those with previous government service.

Gonzaga said that the applicant must have completed a baccalaureate degree, 5 feet and 2 inches in height for female and 5 feet and 4 inches in height for male and must weigh not more than five kilograms from the standard weight corresponding to height, age and sex.

“Applicants with pending administrative and/or criminal case may take the exams and will be conferred the eligibility if they pass the same, she clarified, adding that if the applicant is found guilty of grave offenses, his or her eligibility shall be forfeited based on the penalties stated in the decision and per Revised Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service.

According to her, the fire officer examination scheduled on March 10,2013, will cover 25 percent general ability such as verbal, analytical and numerical abilities, while the remaining 75 percent will cover the specialized area.
For the examinees to pass the same, he or she must have a rating of at least 80 percent, she said.
