ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Oct. 30 (PIA6) –The Philippine National Police is on heightened alert to ensure peaceful and safe observance of the All Saints Day and All Souls Day in Capiz.
Capiz Police Provincial Director Domingo Cabillan said that starting October 31, they are on red alert here as the country observes the All Saints Day and All Souls Day holidays.
He said that he has already conducted a command conference with all the police chiefs in the entire province here to discuss the different measures for the said celebration.
Cabillan said that mobile and foot patrols will be instituted for increased police visibility, particularly in the cemeteries and other public converging areas.
He stressed that each police station will be establishing their respective PNP assistance desks in the entrance of the cemeteries as well as in the various transport terminals.
Cabillan said that as Directed by PNP Chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome, all police personnel must be in their respective posts to respond to any eventuality.
He likewise warned the public to take extra precautions to avoid snatching while going to the cemeteries.
On the other hand, Roxas City Philippine Coast Guard Station Commander Jimmy Oliver Vingno revealed that they are also on full alert for the observance of the Undas.
He said that to assist passengers at the Culasi Port here, they have established a passenger assistance center.
“We are also conducting special operation in checking the baggage of vessel passengers using our K9 dogs as part of our safety and security measures,” Vingno said.(JCM/Jemin B. Guillermo/PIA6-Capiz)
