ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Nov. 22 (PIA6) - Concerns and challenges in energy development will be addressed through the conduct of advocacy campaigns in the country.
Department of Energy Undersecretary Josefina Patricia Asirit disclosed that they will conduct series of information, education and communication activities in the different areas in the country for the 2012-2030 Philippine Energy Plan (PEP).
She said that the advocacy aims to inform the public on the energy sector’s targets, strategies, plans and programs that are geared to address the various issues, concerns and challenges in energy development.
Capiz is one of the areas in the country where the campaign will be conducted so that Capiceños will be updated and made aware of the DOE’s programs and plans, Asirit said.
Set on November 27 in Roxas City, the discussion will focus on power and electrification, resource development, renewable energy, downstream oil, alternative fuels, and energy efficiency and conservation.
DOE Director Jesus Tamang of the Energy Policy and Planning Bureau will lead other top officials of agency in coming to Capiz for the said event.
Asirit said that they are expecting more than 100 participants coming from the different sectors, particularly from the national government agencies, local government units, business, electric cooperatives and media, among others. (JCM/JBG/PIA6-Capiz)
